In collaboration with Swiss lab technology specialist INTEGRA Biosciences, Imago Design developed a new type of pipetting device for professional laboratory use. Our contribution: the complete design – from the outer form to the digital interface. Functional, well thought-out, and ready for everyday use between test tubes and tight deadlines.

Imago Design delivered a holistic solution that reimagines the pipetting device both functionally and aesthetically. In close collaboration with the client, a tool was created that enables precise work in the lab – while impressing with an intuitive user logic.

Interface
The Pipetboy interface has been designed so that every touch feels natural: clear lines guide the hand, concave buttons provide precise haptic feedback and discreet LED elements communicate statuses at a glance - even from the corner of the eye. The color scheme supports orientation without dominating and, together with the minimalist design language, ensures a calm working environment. All operating elements are arranged in such a way that they can be easily reached even when wearing gloves. The result is an interface that not only works, but also speaks - quietly, clearly and reliably.
Color Scheme
The color scheme of the Pipetboy was developed with the aim of supporting orientation, safety and brand identity in equal measure. Calming basic tones provide visual restraint in the often hectic everyday life of the laboratory. The colors follow a clear logic: they structure the interface, promote ergonomics and make the product more recognizable.
